Following the Stay at Home Order, which was announced on Monday, March 24th by the Governor of West Virginia, the Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department has received a lot of calls asking for clarification or recommendations on how this order applies to a business.

In short, the order is issued to assist with the reduction in cases of COVID-19 in the community.  This is done by limiting movements of residents from outside of their homes.

We understand we all must go out to get our essential resources or items.  However, unless you are providing essential services or work for an essential business, we highly recommend that you stay home.

If you are wondering if you or your business is essential, then you should probably stay home as well as your employees.  If you run a business or operation with employees, consider the impact of disease cases on these employees and their families.

All West Virginians and Americans want our economy to continue and thrive, however, our health and safety is paramount at this time.

If you are feeling sick, please stay home. If you feel that medical care is needed, please contact your healthcare provider.
