Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department is announcing six (6) new cases of COVID-19 for 5/19/21 in Ohio County.  Currently, the health department reports a total of 4434 cases, including ninety (90) deaths. Case surveillance, contact tracing, and monitoring continue for many of the reported cases.

Sixteen (16) new cases of the COVID-19 variant B.1.1.7, or more commonly referred to as the UK Variant, have been identified in Ohio County as of 5/19/21.  A total of sixty-six (16) cases have been identified in Ohio County as of 5/19/21.

COVID-19 Testing Clinics

The Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department will hold free COVID-19 testing clinics on Monday, May 24, 2021, and Wednesday, May 26, 2021.

The free clinics are for those with or without symptoms and no insurance is needed. Participants need to bring a driver’s license, photo ID or other proof of address. No residency restrictions.  Patients under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. This is a drive-up testing clinic and participants will be tested either in their personal vehicles or at a walk-up location near the testing sites.  This special clinic is being hosted by the Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department and the Wheeling-Ohio County Emergency Management Agency. COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics (subject to change due to supply and demand).  Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccines are available at the vaccine center, Pfizer is only available at the school clinics.  Walk-ins welcomed at all locations.

The COVID-19 community vaccination center at the Highlands is located in the old Michaels Craft Store/Spirit Halloween Store.  The address is 550 Cabela Drive, Triadelphia, West Virginia 26059.   Ohio Valley residents in West Virginia can now do self-scheduling to make COVID-19 vaccine appointments.  Log onto:  http://www.wheelinghospital.org/vaccine.  To make an appointment, users will need to provide their name, date of birth, address, email address, and phone number.
COVID-19 School Vaccination Clinics
COVID-19 School Vaccination Clinics will be held May 17 – 20, 2021 and again June 7-10, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 pm each day.  Clinics are for children 12 years of age and older, families, and the general community. Guardian must be present for children under 18 years of age.
