Special Food Training for Farmer Market Vendors

On May 16, 2016 from 6:00-8:30pm at the Ohio County Public Library Basement Auditorium the Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department and Karen Cox from WVU Extension Service will present Food Safety for Farmers Market Vendor.  Participants will learn what they need and don’t need to safely sell food and food related products at the farmers market.  The training  will review health permits, food handling, and state updates for farmers market vendors.  WVU will also introduce a tool that can help you assess your risks and develop a personalized food safety plan for your farm. Participants can also participate in the health department food school training and receive a food handlers card for Ohio County for $10 or a state food handlers card for $20.  Registration for this training is required, call 304-234-3673.
