Halloween Update for Ohio County (10/31/20)

At this time, the Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department is advising all residents and organizations in Ohio County that Halloween events are cancelled for 10/31/20. The County is currently GOLD.

The County Health Departments in the Northern Panhandle agreed on uniformed guidance on potential Halloween events. The City of Wheeling and the Ohio County Commission was advised on this decision earlier this month.

At that time, the county health departments agree that Trick or Treat and/or Trunk or Treat can only happen if the county is in Green or Yellow status (WVDHHR County Alert System COVID Map). If Ohio County is green or yellow we would recommend community Trick or Treat and/or Trunk or Treat. The following guidance is provided:

Trick or Treat

Masks (COVID face coverings) must be worn by all participants and at all times.
Social distancing needs to be maintained
No Halloween parades
Events and Trick or Treat should be in residing community

Trunk or Treat

One way route
Masks (COVID face coverings) must be worn by all participants and at all times.
Social distancing needs to be maintained
Assigned stations should be greater than 6ft apart
Only 5 people per assigned station
Prepackage treats only
Children must either stay in car or stand beside car to receive treats

GOLD, ORANGE, AND RED COUNTIES | SOCIAL GATHERING LIMIT: 10 PEOPLE

(September 15, 2020) The limit for all purely social gatherings within counties designated as gold, orange, or red in the color-coded County Alert System map is currently 10 individuals. The limitation does not apply to any activity, business, or entity that has been deemed essential, such as religious services, weddings, or group meetings, conferences, or other special events held for essential businesses and operations, as defined by Executive Order 9-20, as amended.

GREEN AND YELLOW COUNTIES | SOCIAL GATHERING LIMIT: 25 PEOPLE

(July 14, 2020) The limit for all purely social gatherings within counties designated as green or yellow in the color-coded County Alert System map remains 25 individuals.
