Public, Private and Parochial Schools, Ohio County;

The West Virginia state law for compulsory testing of school children and school personnel for TB (64CSR76, specifically 64-76-5) is stillin effect.  What has recently changed isthe state financial support of the PPD and other testing at the local level.

Starting January 1, 2015 the West Virginia Division of TB Elimination will no longer support (financially) the TB testing of new board of education employees or new out of state student transfers.  The law is still in effect and county health departments have been directed to either have individuals pay for the PPD service or bill their insurance.

Effective January 28, 2015, the cost for this service at the Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department is the cost of the PPD, currently $4.23.  We are waving the $30.00 administration fee.

Our department is not currently set up to accept and process insurances and many families may not have insurances to bill.

The Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department PPD (TB) skin testing clinics are Mondays from 9-11am and 1-3pm. No appointments are necessary.
