The Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department and the Wheeling-Ohio County Emergency Management Agency received a $16,749.40 grant from the Fitzsimmons Foundation for the purchase of “Stop the Bleed” kits.  The grant will allow the Ohio County EMA and health department to purchase 30 kits that will be placed in 18 schools throughout the county.

These schools include: Bridge Street Middle School, Triadelphia Middle School, Warwood Middle School, Wheeling Middle School, Bethlehem Elementary School, Elm Grove Elementary School, Madison Elementary School, Middle Creek Elementary School, Ritchie Elementary School, Steenrod Elementary School, Warwood Elementary School, West Liberty Elementary School, Woodsdale Elementary School, St. Michael’s School, St. Vincent’s School, Corpus Christi School, Our Lady of Peace School, Wheeling Country Day School and the Ohio County Administrative Offices.

Kits will also be placed in several buildings that are community gathering centers/areas, including Wheeling Island Stadium, Central Catholic High School Gymnasium,  Linsly Field House, WLU Shaw Hall, WLU ARSC Building, WJU Main Building, WJU McDonough Center, WVNCC and the Capital Music Hall.
