Outpatient healthcare operations, such as Primary Care offices, Dentistry, Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy, Psychological/Mental Health, Podiatry, Optometry and others that are planning to open starting the week of May 4, 2020 (or when feasible) can contact the Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department to get a small supply of masks & gloves.
Face coverings, including procedure masks/N95 or cloth face coverings, should be worn when social distancing is difficult to maintain, especially in a healthcare office setting that is seeing patients or the general public.
Offices that are planning to restart operations may also have additional procedures and practices to keep staff and patients safe, including limiting patients in waiting rooms, handwashing and other measures. Additional information and criteria will be provided by the county health department, and/or the practice’s governing board or association in the coming days.
A small supply of N95 and/or procedure masks and gloves can be provided until your office can order in necessary supplies for staff and patients.
Ohio County outpatient healthcare offices can call the health department at (304) 234-3682. These items are separate from the supplies that are provided to operating healthcare centers, fire departments and other organizations by the Wheeling-Ohio County EMA and Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department.
