The Wheeling Save a Life Day is set for September 24, 2026 from noon to 4 p.m. on 18th Street in East Wheeling, near Catholic Charities.
The event will offer naloxone, overdose prevention training, rapid HIV testing and syringe services to help prevent overdose deaths and connect individuals with community resources.
In addition to naloxone distribution and training, the Ohio County site will offer free rapid HIV testing and syringe exchange services provided by the Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department.
Both drive-through and walk-up access will be available.
The free event is not exclusive to Wheeling, Save a Life Day will be held throughout the Northern Panhandle:
- Hancock County: Weirton, 3420 Main St.
- Brooke County: Wellsburg, 1014 Main St.
- Marshall County: Moundsville Walmart
- Wetzel County: New Martinsville
The event is made possible through collaboration among local organizations including Youth Services System in Wheeling, Jobs & Hope WV, Weirton Young Professionals, Ohio County Family Resource Network, The Unity Center and Empower and Link.
